CAMACC in the Community
The best cities in the world have unique identities, just like the best companies in the world. CAMACC has offices in those kinds of cities, and aspires to be one of those companies! That means we work hard to be part of the community in which we live, work, learn and love.
VIATeC Food Bank Challenge
Every year Victoria’s technology sector gets together to address the growing needs of hungry families in our city. Team CAMACC is actively involved, donating food, collecting bottles, and selling baked goods to raise funds, food and friends for those in need this winter. CAMACC’s Office Administrator Samantha Broekhuizen says, “I’m blown away by how much money we raised together – I’m proud to be part of such a wonderful and loving corporate family!” This year CAMACC raised $2,939.50 in the VIATeC Food Bank Challenge!
Hungry in Canada?
Yes, alas. Too many in our communities struggle to make ends meet. With the ever-increasing cost of living, many families who work minimum-wage paying jobs face incredible financial challenges, and need the help of neighbourhood Food Banks each month. To learn more about the problem and how you can be part of the solution, visit the Mustard Seed. To learn more about how Victoria’s technology sector is helping, visit VIATeC.
Movember started in Australia in 2003, and has since grown to be a global charity phenomenon with a vision to positively impact the face of men’s health. During November every year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of millions of moustaches around the world, along with raising funds and awareness to combat prostate and testicular cancer, and mental health challenges.
More than a dozen CAMACC staff from across North America ignored razors and comments for the month. The “CAMACC Cavaliers” smashed their $500 goal, and raised $1030 (and excited ladies in all the CAMACC offfices).
CAMACC Cavaliers Captain (and IT Manager) Colin Owens says, “The star of the Cavaliers was the youngest member of our team, who raised nearly half of the total funds!”
