Wayne Paidel: Field Technician in the Fields
Saskatchewan is a BIG province, and CAMACC Systems covers all of it. We do it with the help of supervising Field Technician Wayne Paidel, who spends much of his time on the road, travelling past… well, fields.
“The territory is super huge,” says Wayne, “About six and a half hours wide, and 10 hours high, not to mention the western part of Manitoba. I’m pretty much on the road 80% of the time.”
CAMACC’s Saskatchewan clients include many hundreds of Federated Co-op, Shell, Petro-Canada, Best Buy, Futureshop, and London Drugs stores, not to mention a cross-section of businesses in almost every sector you could name. The diversity of businesses demanding CAMACC advanced video security and access control technology means that our installation and service technicians really need to know their stuff. That’s Wayne to a tee.
“Wayne started in the business 20 years ago,” says Randy Maharaj, CAMACC’s Installation Manager for Alberta and Saskatchewan. “He’s been doing work as a CAMACC sub-contractor for about four years, and we’re very lucky to have his skills and experience full-time now.”
CAMACC Systems has been the largest security systems integrator in Saskatchewan for years. So it might seem strange that we’re just now opening our first official Saskatchewan office. “I snapped at the chance to work full-time with CAMACC,” says Wayne. “The company is growing at a fast rate, especially in the prairies, which is where I’m from and want to work.”
Of Course He Bleeds Green
Wayne has always been based in Regina, where he began his career installing massive screens for digital media advertising and other commercial ventures. Eventually he formed his own CCTV installation company, and ran that for 10 years. Like everybody else in the province, Wayne is a huge Roughriders fan. So, too, is Colleen, his wife of 14 years, and his sons Justin (12) and Aaron (9).
“I grew up in the farming community of Killaly, and still have lots of family in Saskatchewan,” says Wayne. “This is where my roots are, and I feel lucky that CAMACC has such a big presence in my province.” Even though that means many hours on the road every day, travelling past those fields.
Wayne’s secret? “Sirius FM satellite radio!” says Wayne. “There’s always something on, from hard rock to country to Howard Stern.” Sounds like CAMACC in Saskatchewan: there’s always something on.
